BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No. 31 - Jonathan Biss
Like so many of Beethoven’s late works, the scope of Op. 110 expands as it progresses: the sonata begins with great beauty but no hint of the grandeur to come. The opening theme is marked “sanft” - like all the best German words, it is untranslatable, but somewhere near its core is “gentleness.” This gentleness, this softness of texture immediately opens the heart but conceals the enormous ambition of the journey we have just embarked on.
Beginning a work that aims for the infinite with such modesty feels fitting, for Op. 110 is altogether a sonata of paradoxes. While it conveys great generosity and contains some of the most sheerly beautiful music Beethoven ever wrote, it is a remarkably ...

VILLA-LOBOS Rudepoêma - Tengku Irfan
Просмотров 28112 часов назад
Born in Rio in 1887, Villa-Lobos adapted Brazilian style and popular music to a classical Western Europe mold. He relished above all the motoric rhythms and melodic cells of his Latin American culture. He wrote Rudepoêma between 1921 and 1926, during his first residency in Paris. It became one of his paramount masterpieces for solo piano, and one of the most impressive and complicated compositi...
MOZART Rondo in A minor, K. 511 - Jonathan Biss
Просмотров 50119 часов назад
Mozart is the most objective of the great composers. Neither an optimist nor a pessimist, Mozart is simply a realist - a stenographer of emotion. If this sounds cold, the results are anything but. Mozart’s mind is so omniscient, his understanding of psychology is so sophisticated - and, of course, his mastery of his craft is so staggering - he can convey, in sound, the changeability and illogic...

"This brief miniature is inspired by the 4th century Catholic Prayer of the same name, which speaks of the immaculate conception of The Virgin Mary. Religion aside, I wanted to portray the contrasting notions of sin and salvation: The first section represents temptation and frivolity, while the second stands as a simple but sincere plea for redemption. The overall atmosphere of the slower secti...
SCHUBERT Four Impromptus, D.935, Op. 142 - Jonathan Biss
Просмотров 542День назад
Schubert’s genius was equally well suited to the epic scale and to the miniature. In piano sonatas and chamber music works of 40 minutes or longer, he takes existing forms and expands them, testing their natural limits and turning digression into a sublime art; in hundreds of lieder, each no more than a few minutes long, he pierces and, in some case, shatters your heart with a single change of ...
BEETHOVEN Sonata No. 22 in F major, Op. 54 - Tengku Irfan
Просмотров 902День назад
Written in the height of Beethoven’s heroic period, this miniature sonata falls right between the composer’s monumental Waldstein and Appassionata sonatas, with the Eroica symphony lurking nearby. Unlike its neighboring sonatas, the piano sonata Op. 54, of modest aims and proportions, only has two movements. Billed as a minuet, the first movement is a rondo form intended to have characteristics...

“Many times, we are in a situation whereby all we can do is either observe in solitary or partake in synchrony. Whether it is a natural phenomenon or the outlook of the societal mass, we question and most often, attribute it to the Zeitgeist. Tempting to pass a value judgement, we savour the process-the experiencing. Leave it as a fantasy. Take the time machine-an act or a scene? Is it satirica...
DARIUS LIM Lux
Просмотров 6272 месяца назад
Lux was commissioned by the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir in 2019. Singaporean composer Darius Lim (b. 1986) was inspired by a trip to South Africa, and this piece is his meditation on light and the ways it can uncover beauty and hope. Harmonies shift and reveal colours like light refracting through glass. The piece ends in a brilliant statement, “Dona nobis pacem” - “grant us peace”. (Wo...

I listened to this while drinking at the old Milk bar making my paradox of what to do in the evening.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE you are truly inspirational and I look up to you so much!! 🎉🎉
the way she looks at the conductor is just brilliant lol.
Loved listening to this interpretation. Thank you so, so much. 💕

She is the Bobby Fisher of the Violin!
Needs more timpani shots!!!!
Argerich is brilliant but this is the first time I have this piece and it is horrible - one of the worst Piano Concerto’s I have ever heard. All over the shop- no BIG Motifs or THEMES and therefore no development. Maybe somewhat in the last movement but then he loses it totally.
I listened to it as a background music. Two things stand out immediately: Bartok - Allegro Barbaro and Prokofiev - Toccata. There may be others, I was just skimming. Good playing.
omggg ❤❤❤ Love you sm Chloeee
I absolutely love the enthusiasm of the conductor! Pure joy!!
Jadi guys kalau mau terkenal di yt modelan review2 gitu. Pembawaanya harus heboh gitu, teriak2 juga. Sama cari partner yg ngerti soal film, biar dibkinkan scriptny nanti.
Damn it! I’m fed up with the Chinese being better at virtually everything!!!😊
Is that twosetviolin in the background !?
Wow! Beautiful performance 😊
This is what it sounds like when the good Lord plays the violin.
I would like to hear Chloe do a cover for Caruso, ave Maria caccini version and also cinema paradiso I love Chloe’s Vivaldi pieces

Me la imagino “Dios por fin terminó esto” en el buen sentido de la palabra, jajaja la verdad que es una gran maestra de maestros Bravo 👏 de verdad
Comfort of this masterpiece is off the charts
Magnificent!!I am breathless!
Jonathan has this wonderous talent when it comes to slow pieces, where he could string all the notes together like a pearl necklace in one organic seemingly effortless breath start to finish. Each pearl shines. I'm mesmerized. Absolutely in love with his Beethoven's Bagatelle Op. 126 no. 3, Op.109, 3rd movt, "Pathetique" 2nd movt... ...his Schumann(fast or slow) is also incredibly sincere and touching😌 When I first heard Claudio Arrau's rendition of this piece, I HAD to put it on repeat and listen obsessively..What a miraculous composition, what a nuanced interpretation. And Jonathan's rendition is my fav among the living pianists🎶
O me a encantado
